Dashcam for a big hulking Class A. What do you use?

Want a dashcam around $100 bucks that does the things it needs to do. And by the way, what are they suppose to do?

Look, my daughter, the good one, wants to buy me something for our new motorhome for Christmas and thought a dashcam would be a good idea and I agree.

I don't want her spending more than $100.00 so what do you recommend?

And before someone says it allow me; "hey this has been discussed before"! Yah yah yah, get over your bad self!

I had my gopro there for about a year, then found that Walmart carries one for about $40 bucks. Had stopped at a Walmart somewhere to sleep for the evening, and was meandering around the store and happened to notice it. Figured what the heck, I'll give it a try. I ultimately bought a couple of them and have them permanently in a number of my vehicles.

Manufacturers should just make them part of the rear view mirror in all cars.

Already captured a car w/trailer that entered from an entrance ramp and pulled into my lane immediately in front of me, and about 1/2 mile later as he was speeding up the trailer unhooked from the ball and it started swinging wildly on the safety chains. He almost had a roll over. Pretty scary for him.

I tend to agree with David Pogue's reviews on most things. I haven't tried this dash cam, but he seems to like it.

I was going to say there are a few threads on this subject but since you said not to, I'll pass.

I looked at the Viofo A119 and it looks excellent! It mentions a "GPS Logger" option but no info. I went to the Viofo website and again it was mentioned but I couldn't find anything about it. I thought that was strange?

That is odd, but a search for "Viofo A119 GPS" found one on eBay.
Highest Quality GPS Module for VIOFO A119 A119S Car Dash Camera | eBay

There were several other links found on the search, but I didn't really look at them much.

Couple things
HD is nice
Needs the correct SD card for your dashcam
Gforce logging is nice so it saves something in an accident
Auto use the oldest files is needed
Big thing for the RV is how to mount it. I have one that mounts great on an angled windshield of a car great not so much on a flat motorhome windshield
Get the capacitor based one not a battery one. The heat will destroy most batteries on the window.

We have a Garmin with 32gig SD card. Records in continuous loop. G Force / incident recorder. Good quality video. Plugs into cig. lighter or 120v outlet with adapter.

I already had a gopro, purchased suction cup mount and mounted low on drivers side window. Catches side mirror and all of the front. Settings are at 720P at 60 frames per second with constant looping. I already had a Gopro so this is why I went this route! But we use it on the Rzr and Jeep adventures as well.

Hi folks,

I really like that Viofo A119 with the optional GPS module. It seems to have everything you'd reasonably need at a budget friendly price. I wish the GPS was built into the main unit but sometimes you can't have everything.

Thanks for your information.
