Does anyone know how to disable the daytime headlights?

Its a 2008 Coachman Mirada. The instruction manual tells you how to enable them but we cant get them to go off. We have had a new bullbar fitted with lights in it, which is our preference to use instead of the daytime headlights. Cheers Di

What, pray tell, is a bullbar?

Why do you want to disable them, it's proven fact your seen much better with them on while you drive. Motorcycles have had these for years, there is no way to turn off the headlights. I never drive without my headlights on, why risk someone pulling out in front of you.

More properly in this case a " Roo Bar " for deflecting kangaroos from the front of your rig, before they get to the grill.
I'm not sure how you system works for turning the DRL off , but if you do it from a menu on the dash and you program in a country that requires DRL then you may not be able to turn them off. And setting to USA where they are optional may change other features in the dash that don't suit Australia.

As AnimalCop said, why bother. They are likely mandatory if the vehicle was sold with them. They quit working on my old Dodge p/u, there was a module on the inner fender that failed. Didn't bother me except the high beams which I seldom used didn't work either.
I had to repair it to pass the safety inspection when I moved out of province and the part was no longer available. That took some scrounging.

I'm kind of interested in why anyone would want to disable the DRL as well. I'm sure there's a reason, just don't know what that might be.

I have a F-53 chassis and mine are on a relay controlled through a 5 amp fuse marked DRL. Number 15 if I remember correctly. Anyway its in the fuse box under the left side of the dash if that helps

Your high beams worked but the high beam indicator, that was wired through the module didn't. Dodge did that to keep people from just pulling the plug on the module to disable the lights.

And we don't know what rules for DRL, Australia has, the OP's, home , and they say they mounted other lights ,they will use, that may satisfy the rules.

Mine too. An '04 build F-53. I have to pull the fuse. I've toyed with the idea of putting a toggle switch in that fuse circuit. My '04 Chevy Tracker disables them when you start the engine when the parking brake is engaged, even if it is only pulled to the first click.

When I had the DRL's enabled I had two 18 wheelers run me off onto the shoulder of I-5. Since I removed the relay (about 9 years ago) it's never happened again.
That's one good reason!!
