Dc problem

We have a 2006 National tradewinds 40d. Just had a new inverter converter installed same model as old one. My house batteries are losing voltage when lights are on the more lights the faster the discharge. I am hooked to shore power. We replaced coach batteries about a month ago. The monitoring shows that we are charging at 13.5 volts. If all lights are off charges real slow. Can’t think of anything else running on 12 volts. Thinking I may need new house batteries as all systems seem to be working.

I guess you meant 'inverter/charger' vs inverter converter?

How old are batteries?
Have you checked specific gravity of battery cells?

Why did you replace inverter/charger....not charging........so batteries weren't maintained..........so batteries were run to low??
How old are those batteries?

The batteries are probably 3 I think. Have not specific gravity We lost Ac inside motor home inverter was burnt. We did have all our dc the neutral was out on the ac this was 1week ago. I topped house batteries with distilled water a week ago Monday

How low is the voltage going when you say it keeps going down as you turn on lights ?

As long as it stays above 13.2 volts, all is good. The inverter/charger will always be in charge mode if your on shore or generator power. It stays in float mode to keep your batteries full.

Many Inverter/Chargers are programmable, you may need to make some adjustments... (the installer SHOULD have done this but.. Well not all installers are that good)

Also at least one make ships with the charger OFF, so you have to enable the chasrger.

You really need to read the voltage at the batteries.
While on shore power many/most converters will supply sufficient DC power even without a battery.
You could use any 12VDC battery in decent condition to verify your Converter(inverter/charger) is working.
If your batteries are discharged quite a bit than you should expect to see something 14+ at the batteries from the converter.
