I would go to a AUTO electric shop not RV dealer, they have test equipment for tracing down draw issues.

Might be a relay or wire issue that you can't see.

There are issues we sometimes can't see.

Shop can do load test and tell you were the issue is.

Could be a bad/intermittent ground somewhere. Trace all wires under the coach and look for loose or corroded connections.

Thanks to all who replied...here is what I found out. I thought the house batteries were good because they showed good voltage. I found out that the voltage was good because I was hooked up to shore power. The cells were dry and after I added 2 qts of water to each, voltage is holding around 12.5-12.7. This is after 4 days. There is no battery disconnect installed.

No disconnect inside the coach? Keep a good eye on those batteries. I'd be concerned if I had to add that much water.

+1^ thats a lot of H2O,check to see if small leek in batteries. Might be due for new batteries. Might want to run the batteries down at home and then see if they will recharge by driving the coach for half hour. Better to find out at home before going on next trip.

Charging weak batteries is not good for the alternator so dont make it a habbit.

On older RV's (THink pre 2000 but In fact I do not know the date, and even on many NEWER Rv's no shore power does not charge the chassis battery.. SOME newer ones like my 2005 have bi-directional isolators (Both Shore and Engine charge both Shore and Engine) but even today, 2016, not all do.

However..... If the battery is going dead in less than a week there is a procedure you should follow:

1: Remove battery (if you are worried about memory loss for radios or computers run a jumper wire from the house battery positive to the chassis battery positive an INSULATE the terminal while disconnected)

2: Take battery to Battery shop or auto shop and have 'em test it

3: Buy new battery (I am sure the battery will fail the test)

4: Install

5: Remove jumper.

I do it every morning when I leave from Walmart, Flying J or a CG without power.

MHs chassis are built with high output alternators, so they can handle charging low batteries.

How many amps is yours ?

I checked batteries today around 12.3 (that is lower than the last few days) went to Autozone and installed a battery disconnect...for the last 5 hours or so my house batteries are down to 11.7 and chassis is holding at 12.3. I am hooked up to shore (50 amp) and don't think house are charging...I turned off the switch show it isn't charging by shore. Does that mean they probably are bad? Water level is still about where I left it when I filled them up few days ago...thank you

well he is wrong 4.5 amps is enough but 4.5ma battery should last for a long time and a 12V bulb at 15 watts draws 1.5 amps

Have them load tested most auto parts stores will do it free
