------->Dear fellow RV's.. we are seeking wisdom...
Hello to all, we are new to RV-ing' (is that a word?)..
We need advice from anyone that has more experience than we do. We have a 2006 Fleetwood Southwind 37L. My husband is looking into trading it in for a diesel pusher. Right now he's looking into this bus..

I really like the Holiday.... only concerns that come to mind...
1.Tire age, look for the dot markings and check yourself.
2.Norcold refrig...not a residential. What is under fridge? If furnace makes installation of a residential tight.
3. Over 10 years old will financing be an issue?
Don't test drive it unless you are going to purchase as I think you will be hooked on the diesel pusher. l

We own an '04 Monaco Beaver which is almost exactly the same setup minus the 1/2 bath. You'll need a residential frig ($2500-3000) or an Amish cooling unit ($1500-1700) installed to get rid of the current fire trap. The rear TV is the old "boat anchor", the exterior fiberglass under the dark paint is probably "crazed" with no cure except replacing the exterior walls (serious big bucks)
My foremost concern if the $89995 is correct, is that they are $40000 overpriced.

This coach is a close cousin to the coach you are considering:
40' 2002 Monaco Windsor 350hp Cummins w/2 Slides for $51,000It sold 03/2014 at PPL which is a big consignment dealer. This would mean that a price in the low 60's would be a reasonable market price.
Here is the brochure:

what are you talking about, over priced, that coach compared to what is on the market new or old, there are few coaches built today that could compare, TV's fridges etc, small change when compared to the handling, quality and craftsmanship in this rig, ISL cummins, roadmaster chassis, 89K is asking, coach was likely over 300K new. Now I will comment that in the price range, you could go a little older and get a tag axle dynasty, executive and possibly a signature which would be the cream of the crop and something you would be thrilled with.
eitherway good luck and don't be swayed by the nay sayers

i HAVE SEEN CHEAPER AROUND WITH MY SEARCHES, HERE IN THE CENTRAL VALLEY, of what a person looking for a DP is what the least HP to look for coupled with the best transmission, as far as allison of coarse, tthat would be my question if I were looking, because the whole idea for me would be pulling the hills with ease in a DP with a toad

You can't go wrong with the Holiday Rambler Imperial. Also check Monaco Windsor, which is the equivalent coach. Spend some time to look at available Monaco Dynasty, Executive, Signature coaches.
These are all wonderful, top of the line coaches.
I agree with the advice about the tires and refrigerator.

We like the HR Imperial rigs. They are a good step up from the Scepter and Endeavor.
However for us, the bath + 1/2 is too much use of length in a 40' rig.
Also, we would not like the short kitchen counter top space.
Does this unit have Aqua-Hot heating?
YMMV.

I have always heard don't buy a motorhome off Craigs List . Look around! We looked for almost a year and found an unbelievable deal. Our blue book was $50,000, original and we paid $32,000. If or should I say when I buy another I will do the same thing, keep your eyes open! I am disabled so I have plenty of time to look and I am still looking. I bought mine for a first time buyer so I could learn to drive the big turd. Took out the gutter on the house trying not to hit the fence 3 weeks after I bought it.

We love our 2002 Monaco Windsor! It has the Roadmaster chassis with all-steel welded "box" and 8 air bags with auto leveling (no hydraulic jacks). We have spent about $12,000 in changes and additions to make it more safe and comfortable.
Just be sure that any Monaco product you look at does not have the "trailing arm" issue that can cost BIG bucks! I'm not sure what chassis' were involved, but the 2002 Windsor was not one of them.
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
