We've been close to purchasing two different RV's ~ both with DD's...but due to the lack of any available issue, decided not to go forward.

Please add section!

I put one on our engine and got 0.9mpg improvement in fuel economy immediately.

I have been changing my oil, using SHELL Rotella at 10,000 miles. The engine doesn't burn any oil between changes. I use SPEEDCO truck stations for my oil changes and have an oil analysis run at each change. Oil is always below normal level of contaminants.

I would sure like to see a Detroit engine discussion group added to this forum.
Your post brought up a side question: On a Monaco Sig we're looking at - 45' - the Build Sheet calls out a Series 60 upgrade without mention of the HP. On a separate Series 60 specification sheet from DD it lists a 12.7L and a 14 L model with various HP from 380 to 515.

How do I know what I'm getting in any coach with a Detroit Series 60?????

The DD numbering system can be confusing. My DD 13 is listed as 12.8L, 500 HP and 1,650 ft/lbs of torque.

My Detroit 60 14 liter is in a 2004 Monaco Signature and the Electronic Engine Control is a "DDEC IV" with 500 HP. I think in 2005 it was upgraded to "DDEC V" and that had 515 HP. There were differences inside the engine also I heard. Probably never notice the difference in them though.
