Dewinterizing
Need some idea's where to dewinterize. We will be traveling from Illinois down towards San Antonio Texas. Probably want to do it somewhere between Little Rock and Waco Texas. Trying to stay away from camping world , sounds like the service is iffy. Your help is appreciated.

Are you saying that you need an RV service place to dewinterize?

The big question is WHEN are you traveling? We live in Austin and it was freezing last night just north and west of us. Winter isn't over down here just yet. RVs in the San Antonio area were just winterized last month. BRRRRR.

Don't know what you have for equipment so how can we answer . I have heated tanks but don't have any idea what to tell you.

Somebody posted an app for weather in certain areas - WeatherUnderground - look at the night time lows where you're headed. Don't forget the groundhog says 6 more weeks of winter ;-)

The best way to de-winterize is to fill the fresh water tank first. Then turn on the water pump. Now open every faucet one at a time until you get clear water. Then reverse the bypass valves on the water heater and replace the drain plug,if it isn't already, and allow it to fill with water. That's it, you're done! If you detect an odd taste, add about 1TSP of baking soda for each 10G water in the tank, and 1.5 oz. of bleach per 100G to disinfect the water. If you wish to sanitize your fresh water system do it this way: Sanitizing
Once the water heater is filled and the pump stops running, let it sit that way for 10-15 minutes while listening for the pump to run for a few seconds at a time. If it does there's a leak somewhere and it must be located and stopped.

To answer some of your questions, we have a 2004 Fleetwood Bounder 35 E gas with a 8.1 and allison behind it we are going from Illinois and eventually ending up in Mesa Az for spring training. Here in Illinois its cold highs in 20's lows about 10. just trying to find a decent place to dewinterize between Little Rock or Waco Tx.I have been following the weather and it will be warmer the way we are headed.going from San Antonio west to Big Bend National Park to Mesa AZ

My addendum,
If you will be living in your Bounder it will be heated. You may de-winterize your first night out from home if you choose. Heat your MH with the propane furnace, it will keep the water lines from freezing and provide enough heat to the holding tanks too. IMO the most vulnerable to freezing is the water pump, as most are near an access door which is poorly insulated. I have a piece of fiberglass batting I place over my water pump between it and the access door.
For piece-of-mind, use a remote thermometer to keep track of the temperature in that bay.
