Did a really dumb thing!!

I was driving a 40' motohome out of the RV park and cut a turn a little too tight and caught the wood retaining wall. It creased several of the Cargo Storage bays and will definitely need some re- painting. It gets worse, it was my friends rig. He just had an operation and wasn't able to drive it, so as a favor I drove it to the park and went back up to drive it back. Due to some snow I had to take it out a different direction, and was so focused trying to keep the drivers side from slipping off the shoulder I caught the retaining wall on the passenger side. I would of felt bad if it was my Rig, but I feel terrible it was somone else's. Our friends were completely gracious over the incident, but I Would still like to help them with finding a good repair center in the Sacramento Area. Please let me know if you know of a good reputable company. Regards

I would suggest you find (google) a "Priority RV Network" dealership in your area. They tend to have real service centers and hire competent tech's. Every Priority place I have dealt with has been great. Avoid places like Camping World at all cost. Hope this helps.

It might be better to let his insurance company know about the damage.

You were driving with his permission so the damage should be covered by his insurance.

If you/he initiate the repairs yourself and the cost escalates beyond your comfort level, the insurance company then has the right to ignore a subsequent or late claim.

Just a thought.

Here are two to check with: American RV Service Center
and http://arvrental.com/rv-service-center/

Both have done work for people I know and did a decent job.

Dinged ours on a stone wall at an older Oregon State park. Unlike more modern parks, the roads were narrow and the sites at 90 degrees. Across from our site was a vacant tent site with a stone wall separating it from the adjacent one. It was on my passenger side and not tall enough to be in my field of view.

I turned into the tent site and I was concentrating on backing across into our site. I only discovered the wall when two stow-bin doors got crinkled. I was able to take them off and re-skin them when we got home.

Stop sign Killer!!!! Mind you they do not go down without giving a fight. I managed to survive mine with scrapes all the way down the right hand side of my rv.

the secret you ask?

Simple. Wait until the very last second to actually turn the steering wheel and then turn like it means something to you. If you arent halfway out into the intersection before you turn the wheel, your a .....

When you make the import driver nervous you are arcing just right.

We've all done something "really dumb." The side of a former RV got in an argument with a couple of 6 x 6s embedded in concrete...the side lost. The D/W said what our kids used to say all the time, "get out your check book, Dad."
