Did you use a roller for your E-bond tape?
I am preparing to install E-bond tape on my roof seams and skylight. Is the roller needed? If so where can I purchase one besides the one made and sold by Ebond? I looked online at Lowe's and Home Depot but did not see anything similar to the heavy steel roller.

I don't think you need a heavy steel roller. I would try a wallpaper shop. They should have small rollers of different material.
I think the roller is mostly to make sure there are no air bubbles when it is slowly laid down. Once it hits the surface you can't move it so be sure it is positioned correctly the first time.

When I bought mine online they included a rubber roller with it. Looks like a wallpaper roller.

I also used a wood wallpaper roller. Maybe $3-$5 at Lowes?

I used a rubber roller ... you actually need it to ensure the edges are in full contact with the roof surface. You could probably use a small block of wood as long as you didn't drag it ... just position it and press hard.

This is what I used:
Silicone Seam Roller, 1-3/4 in. Wide x 1-7/16 OD, Hardwood Handle
I also bought my eternabond from this place.
I'd recommend using a roller as it's probably the only way you'll be able to get a good seal on the tape.

I used a caster with about a 1 1/2 inch width. Drilled a hole in the end of a piece of wood for the handle and jammed the stem of the caster into the hole. Worked for me.

Yes, I believe the adhesive is pressure-activated, so a roller is needed. But as previous posters stated, less expensive rollers are available.

Don't waste your money doing a mediocre job. Yes, buy a roller, yes use the prep stuff sold by Eternabond. This link to Eternabond application videos may be of use: EternaBond Video Library
