diesel engine problems

I have a 1994 Holiday Rambler Imperial that I have owned for about 15 years and it has been a trouble free unit until recently. It is a diesel pusher with a Cummins 250 hp engine.
Recently it started losing power especially going uphill. I changed both fuel filters and that didn,t help. I discovered that the fuel system was vacuum locked. Anybody ever had this problem.ĺ

I don't understand your statement "I discovered that the fuel system was vacuum locked"

Could you explain what you are talking about? It seems that if the coach runs it isn't "vacuum locked" as it is getting fuel.

What does your air cleaner look like, is it dirty?

Have you checked the charge air cooler for leaks?

I don't know anything about a vacuum locked diesel. But depending on where you live, you might be running Bio Diesel. If this is the case, you MUST clean them out with additives to clean and lubricate. This could also be issues with injectors....again additives.

Welcome to iRV2, there is the possibility of a bad mechanical lift pump, or a hidden fuel filter, ( strainer ) that is blocked. These filters are small and easily missed in examining the chassis.
I'll see if I can find a picture and post it.

You posted a 250 HP rating for your Cummins engine , there was over lap in ratings in the 90s , do you know if it's a 5.9, or an 8.1 ?
