The reset is one of the choices on the computer screen. It is one the screen that has the mpg on it.

i keep trying but i can't do it i don't see where to reset and i try to press every button on there and no luck, do you have the one with 3 button on the left and 3 on the right? Thanks Joe.

This is a Winniebago, right, and not a Monaco Alladin System or whatever Country Coach uses. That probably makes a difference

Sorry, I read your public profile. Maybe that will help somebody chiming in and telling you how to reset it. I know how to do it on my Aladdin System.

Not being a MH owner, but a poor trailer trash hauler, speed does count in one's total MPG number. I'll travel at 58-60 MPH to get much better MPG. I'll also use a mid grade fuel (Unleaded) to get a 1/2 MPG increase. I'll average 12-12.5 MPG towing....Everyone is right in we are pulling or pushing boxes down the road....

CAT C7 w/ about 16K mi on the coach. 2009 avg mpg was 8.3 mpg. These days I drive for fuel economy. That means setting the cruise at 62 mpg and using the economy mode on the Allison. I do a fair amount of driving in the hills and mountains of NY/PA. Keeps your rpm's down, and I think it helps.

I pull a 3200# HHR.

Pusherman maybe you can help me with resetting my trip computer, if you k ow how to do it since yous also have a c7 I'm assuming you have one, thanks Joe.

hey does anyone have a vms system in they're RV if so what does it really do and does it help with anything another words is it worth spending the money on it?

Just got back from 4000 miles in the SW from Wash State. Endevour with trailer and 4-runner on it. A lot of pass's(9000') and head winds. Travel near the speed limit to 62 where I cruise. Do a lot of the SR's off the freeways. and ran rhe gen 50 hours. Total 8.012 MPG, this included several short trips before and after the the main trip. Have gotten as high as 11 mpg on a short tank and level good wind.

If you want the best MPG, then you need to find the "sweet spot" with your motor. I have a Cummins ISX 600HP and the coach weighs in around the 50K neighborhood. 1600 RPM is the sweet spot for my coach and this works out to be 69-70 MPH. This will give me around 6.5 to 7.5 mpg flat towing a Ford Explorer, and the coach (Monaco Signature) has 20,000 miles on it. I've try the 55 MPH thing, and at that I will get only 4.0 mpg.

I've had my coach on Cummin's dyno here in Cloverdale and their numbers back up my findings...I was also happy to find out that my motor was actually turning out 700 hp right out of the box.

By the way, my findings are based on cross country trips from Virginia to Yellowstone and to all states in between...

Charles, that is interesting on your Sig. I have a 2004 Sig with the Detroit Series 60 Diesel and I am getting 7.1 MPG at 62 MPH. I was reading a article on the web last night written by a Detroit 60 certified retired mechanic and truck driver that also states that on those real big motors that the "sweet spot" is very different from a smaller diesel motor. Maybe I need to bump up my speed and test for a sweet spot up higher. He stated that for the Detroit 60 in a 18 wheeler the sweet spot was at 1600 rpm like what you have found on your ISX 600 powered Sig.

Found this article on Gearing For Fuel Economy on the web. It pretty well lists all the diesel motors and there best RPMs for fuel economy are or as refered to as the "Sweet Spot". The sweet spot RPM varies depending on motor make and size. 62 mph maybe best for one configuration but 65 maybe better for another. If you go too slow for the motor design you can get on the backside of the torque curve and use more fuel. The other thing that you need to be careful of is that you don't go too slow that you are now in 5th gear. It puts my 2006 and earlier Detroit S60 sweet spot at 1550 RPM (actually 1450 to 1550) which is real close to the 1600 rpm stated in another article. It appears that the new variable pitch turbos allow the sweet spot to move down in rpm. The newer the motor the lower the rpm is for the sweet spot. It also states in the article that the smaller the motor the higher in RPM the sweet spot is. Maybe this article will help us find the sweet spot for our MH configuration. I was surprised on the RPM range for the Sweet Spot on different motors.

When reading the "line haul application" is the open road truck which would be closer to MH operation.
