Diesels and California

Want to know if any one else CA resident or not has recieved notice from CA Air Resources board requiring Diesel Particulate Filters on pre 2007 units,a friend of mine recieved notice telling him he had till first of year for his 2005. These filter upgrades cost $15-$20,000 as I am looking at same upgrade on my 97 Peterbilt but I am also a RVer with a 2006 Itasca Ellipse. Personally as far as CA is concerned I have been waiting for them to do something upgrade or more money on registration,CA does not like Diesels and there Truck regulations affect all trucks coming in from anywhere you either upgrade or are illegal and subject to heavy fines, for anyone that wants to look , Calif Air Resources Board--www.arb.ca.gov..and go to the Truck Stop section it has info for Truck Busses and what I saw it says Private non commercial Motorhomes are exempt . But CA is constantly changing the rules on Diesel trucks
