BTW, the price was considerably less than FMCA's so called "Michelin Advantage Program" price.

While that is probably true, Sams Club does NOT sell 22.5 tires. I called 3 different one and got the same answer. The FMCA price is great on larger tires.

I believe its the UV light that ages tires, and any AGe doesn't show up till at least 5 years down the road on most tires so I'd be ok with them if it was me. I'm sure they were all in a warehouse indoors and not in direct sunlight.
Side note.
Back in 1997 I got a M35 (2.5 ton) Deuce Military Truck that had a water tank on it. I ended up parting it out. PO before me was a fire department. It had less then 7k miles on it. No engine came with it.
It still had original NDT military tires on it. The Rear Tires looked very nice no cracks anywhere. The fronts were quite different, Bad cracks inside wall and tread. The front fenders were much more open and didn't shade the tires nearly as much as the water tank shaded the back.
They had the oldest date code I have EVER seen.
they had a simple 3 digit code different months but all were like "4-66" (AS in 1966)
These were of course tube tires and they all held air.

I don't think any Sam's Club stocks 22.5s, but they sure will order from their warehouse...or where ever they get 'em. I went to Sam's and ordered two 235 80 22.5 Michelin XRVs and had them installed at a truck service center, here in Florida. DOTs were less than 3 months. Must have been some rookies on the phone or maybe a company policy there in WA?

I bought my 6 Michelin XZE 22.5 tires, at the Sam's Club in Wausau, WI.
(They don't stock 22.5 tires however they can, and do, order them).
I didn't call Sams' Club... I bought my tires the old fashion way.....I went into the store and talked to the Tire Dept manager.
He pulled a book from under the counter, looked up the size I needed, gave me the price, (which was $100 each less than the FMCA price) and ordered them, (delivery took 5 days).
The people that answer the phones at most business places don't know much... if they did they'd have a good job.

Just curious, did you have them shipped to the installer? If not how did you transport them?

Mel, Cant argue that score with you. Wish we had done it, would have saved another 600 bucks. As it was we saved a bundle on the price and no sales tax because we took delivery in Oregon.

I didn't have them shipped to the installer because Sam's Club had agreed that I could reject any of the 6 tires with a date code older than 6 months.
I took them to a tire shop in minivan and had them mounted and spin balanced.
I saved an additional $45 by taking the 6 old tires back to Sam's Club for disposal.....(Sam's Club charged only $2.50 each for disposal, tire shops all wanted $10.00).
BTW, Before I ordered the tires I got price quotes for the mounting and balancing at various tire shops.
The tire shop I chose was 3 miles from the Sam's Club and had quoted the same price for mounting and spin balancing 6 tires whether I bought the tires from them, through FMCA, or at Sam's Club.

I'd have to probably rent a trailer or truck to transport the tires to an installer. That would reduce the savings somewhat but it's still a reasonable idea.
