From the facts provided, I would prefer the HR Endeavor because of the Cat engine and the diesel generator. The Endeavor and the Diplomat are pretty much the same under the skin. They are built on the same chassis.

The Diesel generator would be the tie breaker for me,I would choose the Endeavor.

X20 All my customers who bought lp generators first, went with diesel generators the second time around. It will help at sell time also. lp is a pain in the butt to refill. No one will allow you to fill with lp. You always have to wait till the "lp guy" can come out and help you. Go with the diesel!

If the floor plan is identical and the Diplomat does not have a slide, then I would pick the Endeavor all other things being equal.
Otherwise, the best floor plan and slides would trump the inconvenience of the LP generator for me.

Are you pulling a toad? I don't know the numbers on those two motorhomes, but if so, I would make sure the Monaco has enough GCWR and cargo capacity for what you need. I would be concerned enough about the 275hp in a 38 ft. motorhome to look at the numbers very closely.

Exactly what we did, the propane gen was air cooled and noisy. In 5 days we went through two 10 gal tanks and most of our onboard 40 gal (32 usable) tank.
