I'm told that was Company wide, maybe the decided to go ahead and put the cages in anyway for safety. Good idea.

I still go to Discount for my car tires and suggest them to anyone who asks. They are great, cept for this issue.

I didn't ask about the chinese tires or off brands. Don't know about pricing yet, they are doing some research for me on all 245 70 r19.5 F tires. Will keep you posted.

They have been in business for many years and are hightly reputable as the City of Ft Worth and maybe even Arlington/Grand Prairie use them for police/fire/ambulance mobile tire service. Our Company used them for many years back in the 90's on our projects in downtown Dallas, lot of equipment flats on big highway jobs....

So I ended up buying a full set of Bridgestones from a truck tire dealer to replace the set I purchased from DT only 2.5 yrs and 8k miles earlier.

All because they refuse to properly train their employees on the products they were already selling.
That really bites!

I know, right?

Well, I'll tell you from my calling around here locally, there are few and far between truck shops that will mess with these 19.5 tires. I am happy Rick's is so close, otherwise, I'd be driving 100 miles to have new tires mounted.....ugh!

I bought my 19.5" tires from DT less than a year ago. They had them shipped to a place that installs them for DT.

I have to say it depends on the store and it's people.

Bought tires from them in Texas, and they put the spare back UPSIDE DOWN!! When it did not fit right, they tried to "jam" it in there. That store certainly did not have professional tire people.

While we can not purchase 19.5 tires, we still have several in our inventory. We still work with them, balance, rotate and repair. They are larger and take a little more to handle but, after all they are tires.
We have several customers that have MH's with 19.5 and they are still taken care of in our shops.

Yep, they gave me quotes to order and deliver somewhere else as late as this past January, but not now, when I called back again, they told me they don't even order them anymore.

Mike, check with your store just for curiosity and see if they would still order them for you....

I'd be interested to see if its just a store by store basis they won't order them anymore or if its company wide.

Hey Wildbill, they can order off brands but Dewayne said they have never actually been asked to order them, because the RV folks that order new tires from them always order Michelin, Goodyear, or the like.

He also said Firestone won't allow them to order RV tires in because it would undersell their stores.

Price is 35.00 each for taking the old off and putting the new tires on. He priced the Dynabeads at 25.00 each, which sounds a little high to me.... I'll go check that out too....

When I went to the other store to get them installed, the guy at the desk said he could have sold them to me cheaper. Yeah, right. That's easy to say after the fact.

DT is not open yet, but if I remember, I'll call them.

I got a bit pizzed at DT when I went in for a couple tires on my old work van. I wanted the new tires on the front and they refused quoting some stupid policy. Across the street Goodyear put 2 on the front for the same price. That was enough for me from the clowns at Discount.

I have not purchased tires from them but I saw a site called "tires online @tires-easy.com" that seemed worth a look. They seem to carry many brands and have contracts with local places for the install. Maybe some one else knows something about them.
