211K-large, runs hot, coaxial, runs multiple tvs on the same channel.

Question:On the 211k my surround sound must be hooked into the DVD player as the only way the surround sound works is by turning on the DVD player and switching it from DVD to tv/cable. With the 211z I have no surround sound when performing the same actions. Any thoughts outside of going back to the 211k?
To answer your 'one question', I also have the 211z and get 5.1 through my DVD amplifier.

I connect the 211z to the TV using HDMI which carries the 5.1.

I connect the TV audio out to the DVD/amp input using optical cable.

If your TV has optical output and your DVD has an optical input, this is a simple solution to your 'one question'.

There may also be a setting in your TV menu to allow 5.1 output.

Yes indeed, good choice. It can double as a space heater!

Anybody done an actual power consumption comparison between the K and Z? Methinks the excessive heat from the K must reflect in power consumption.
