Display cell# on outside of coach ?

Just wondering if anyone leaves visible contact info (cell#) near the door/window of their coach for emergencies when they are away in the toad?

We have a sign that notes that "Pets Inside - Call and our two cell numbers".

Hopefully if there is a problem, someone will call.

I have often worried about the furkids in the MH when we are away. If we know the park and our neighbors we leave the door unlocked, but if we don't know them what should we do??

The only problem with leaving a number in plain sight is if a thief is in the park, calls the number on what looks like an empty coach, nobody answers...stuff gets ripped off.

We have a sign in plain sight which states: In Case of Emergency Rescue Pet Inside, and it has our cell # on it.

I'd much rather provide my cell # in case of emergency, rather than risk the off chance someone may use that information against me.

P.S. I always answer my cell.

They ( thieves ) could also call and you answer and tell them your one hour away. That gives the thieves one hour to do their deed.

We keep a placard in our window near the entry door which gives our cell numbers and states if a pet is inside.

I fail to see how this benefits a thief if he wants to know if it's empty he has but to knock on the door.

If I thought there was an issue with a pet in a coach in a campground, I would contact the office. We have pets and make sure that the office knows how to get in touch with us if we are away. Sure someone could assume that a coach is empty if they knock and no one answers, but that doesn't give them any idea where the owners are or how soon they will be back. Calling a cell phone and saying there is a problem with the animal in the coach would likely cause most of us to give information on how long it will take us to get back, and possibly even how to find an emergency key to rescue the pet.

I guess we must be leading a sheltered life. Where we park or motorhome when traveling, there are typically office personnel that watch vehicles entering and exiting, neighbors out and about cooking, visiting, doing activities, etc. Maintenance guys/gals are typically cutting grass or repairing things. If you stay one place for a day or so you get a good idea what the neighbors look like and would notice a stranger carrying stuff out. Hardly seems like a thief's choice for good hunting grounds.

We leave a sign on the door with information about pets and our contact numbers. I am a pretty paranoid person, but worry about a thief at a campground is hardly worth it, IMO.

We have both out cell numbers on the door window. It states ICE dogs inside. This should keep thieves from trying anything. There are dogs inside but I doubt they would be much threat even though they are 60 something lbs. each. Crooks don't know that.

Our biggest worry is a power outage when it is hot so a generator auto start is in our future.

Any time we have friends in a CG we ask them if they could call the numbers on the door. This is safer than nothing at all.

There are many devices available (remote temperature sensors) that will call your cell and let you know if the AC failed and temperatures rose - we just bought one that attaches to a laptop. A little pricey, but might ease your anxiety.

Thanks jzick, we have looked into a few options but haven't decided. One nice thing is that the CG we spend most of our time at has the same gang and we are all friends that look out for each other.

What about leaving a key in a sealed envelope at the office if you have pets inside??
