The old fabric was hanging loose in the center where it connects to the coach and just barely connected on each end.

I ordered some new fabric and the wife and I replaced one of two awnings.

I was pleasantly surprised on how easy it actually was. And what a difference in the quality of the materials. The old stuff is canvas and was growing all sorts of fungi on it.

Saturday we will attempt the living room slideout. It's aboot twice as long as the bedroom.

Was your awning manual or electric? I am looking for some guidance for a replacement of the fabric on an electric.

Tomorrow we are changing the longer one over the living room slideout. I'll take step by step pics of that one. It is rather easy, much easier than I imagined.

My wife and I replaced the awning over our small slide out based on the RVGeeks videos. We purchased the awning from Tough Top as recommended by the geeks. I'm not the best with tools but it seemed so simple and it was. They just put out another video about the Carefree Awning we have over the main slide out. That is next and it looks even more simple than the small one. We will go with Tough Top again as they were great to deal with and the material is super quality compared to Carefree stuff removed. YOU CAN DO IT !!!!

Congratulations! I also replaced mine with the Tough Top replacements. Their videos and methodology are excellent. I used silicone spray to lubricate the channel on my 19 ft slide and it made the process simple. It is a job that most RV's can successfully undertake if they are comfortable working on a ladder.
