Do AC Compressors have different critical specs?

Well, my AC clutch is causing the fuse to blow and of course defeats the dash air cooling.

Since the rig is 17+ years old, I would likely just replace the entire AC compressor and clutch with a new one.

The old compressor is a Zexel which apparently another company today.

My system services cooling units in the dash (which is 34 feet away) and in the rear bedroom.

Except for mounting style, pulley style, and high and low side connections location, will any automotive compressor work with my DP mounted cooling system?

Heavy duty should be specified.

Dean, compressors vary in cubic inch (their displacement). Don't get 1 undersized....get at least as big as you currently have. They do look identical from the exterior appearance.

having 2 cooling units...I'd sure think you have a large displacement on your RV at the present

Thanks to all for the additional info, Heavy Duty and similar displacement are added to my search parameters.

Zexel as a Company is confusing.

There is a Bosch-Zexel unit that sells fuel injection pumps.

Now I find a Valeo-Seltec-Tama-Zexel AC Compressor outfit. Their media bulletin is at the link below if anyone is interested.

ACMEair

I would guess that might be your website? Thank you for the info.

I was able to ID the original compressor as a TM15hd with its specific model number once removed from the coach. The info was on the rear. I then purchased a direct replacement.

Just installed it and waiting on a new dryer. Next is to get it pressure tested and recharged.
