Drove 350 miles today over hill and dale in 100 degree heat, all is good. Did see temps rise, but considering the weight I am towing 7500#, the heat and elevation here in Montana all went well.
Glad all is well. Smooth idle and rough running under load as you reported in an earlier post is a sign the fuel filter may be clogged. Enough fuel gets through for a smooth idle, but not enough when the engine is using more fuel under load.

Newbee question: does anyone add any diesel additive to their tank when they fuel up? If so what? I see it at truck stops but don't know what to do. Says it lubes and treats the fuel, cleans injectors etc..

I add Amsoil DieselFuel injector cleaner as well as Amsoil Cetane booster to every tank. I also have the fuel filters changed every time I change the oil.
