Do my duo therms heat?

I have 2 units on top of my mh.. I don't have a manual for my duotherms.. On my thermostat my choices are .. Fan, cool, furnace and off.. The furnace mode is my gas unit to under my fridge.. I can turn the units on cool, and run the temperature up to say 70.. They run but I don't feel any heat.. It's 45 degrees here now. How do I know if the units have the heat strips? Thanks

On my 5 button thermostat, one of the selections(Mode) is "Heat pump" on the read-out.
Do you have the manual that came with your units?
Heat pumps/heat strips do not seem to be listed even as a option.

My 5 button thermostat for the two roof mounted Duo Therms with heat strips has a mode for heat for each zone and a separate mode for the furnace. If you pull the filter down you can look up and see the heat strips if your have them. If you find you have heat strips or heat pumps and can't select them the control boxes are not set correctly.

If you have a heat pump you won't have heat strips and vice versa, or at least that's my understanding. Someone a while back did claim they had both though.

Correct it's either one or the other not both. Even if they made one with both they couldn't be run together because of the amp draw.

Since you don't have a "heat" or "heat pump" position on the thermostat, you probably don't have a heat pump.

To the best of my knowledge the 2000 Diplomat did not come standard with heat pumps, but they may have been an option. I have an 2000 Windsor brochure and it also specifies straight a/c (not heat pump) as standard.

On the 08 Duos, in the Mode selection on the thermostat - when the heat mode is selected there are 3 "modes". Heat Electric. Heat Gas. Heat Off. Heat electric is the heat pump mode.
