By the way, the same for texas on the slack adjuster checking and rod travel

We have a set but use them on the trailer for towing the car and bike. We have almost all the parts ready to set the car up for 4 down towing and after we do that we will sell the trailer and the tub o' straps too. We may keep the chocks thou, just in case.
We did make these RV Leveling Blocks Built for Indestructibility thou for putting under the leveling jacks and for keeping the mat down in the wind or using them for going under the RV or car or bike instead of laying on the ground in dirt or water.

Yes. Plastic wedges, but I'd love some x-chocks for between the wheels.

While your post is well intentioned, I do not believe it is accurate or safe. www.icbc.com/.../drive_commercial_veh...

Personally, I feel every RVer should be able to perform a standard AB "test", but this does not require crawling under the chassis to inspect auto-slack adjusters or fooling around with actuator rods. Regardless...definitely not LAW in BC for RVers with AB systems & auto-slack adjusters (even during the test for an AB endorsement)

Explain....Yes.....adjust/check travel....No.

IMO....actual adjustments or repairs to the system should ONLY be performed by a certified and fully trained AB technician....in a proper shop with appropriate safety precautions .... not someone who took a few hours of classroom theory & was able to pass a very basic exam/test.....in a campground with plastic wheel chocks!

That certainly is assuming a lot!

On an occasions that I would need chocks, would use my chunks of wood used to aid leveling.

I did need on a previous coach went the auto park brake failed. With no parking pawl in the transmission it would roll on the slightest of inclines.

I always carry them and I always use them. They may not be necessary, but they certainly wont hurt anything.

I've carried wheel chocks for the 12 years I've owned this coach.
Like many things I carry just in case, I have never used/needed them.

Agree, better to have them and not need them, than to need them and not have them.

I carry 4 of the big rubber chocks from Mack Truck dealer. I use them when we park for the winter in Texas, and any time I work under the MH. Better safe than have tires tracks over your belly. Eddie Elk.

Well....we were talking about BC...but since you are from the US....it does mean "squat" according to DOT - 49CFR396.25(d).

......in the USA it is illegal for a driver to adjust air brakes unless they hold the proper DOT certification - an air brake endorsement on your CDL only allows you to inspect and operate them......!

Heck....go for it....adjust all you want ( without certification)....just against the law! Same regulations apply here in Canada and will "void" your ICBC insurance in BC.

BTW....Excuse me for trying to pass-on relevant information for something as important as your brakes!
