kat, Haven't seen Ron at the dunes lately. I think he camps at a different location now. He bought Duner's diner by the Gordon's well campsite and the land just across the bridge from Buttercup.

The chair exploded when I ran over it with my Dodge 2500 truck.
The owner of Sandbuggy Supply, Denis (can't remember his last name) used to camp with us... then he made it big and didn't want to hang with us in our old motorhomes with our standard travel buggies. He would camp elsewhere but come over to visit with his newest & greatest, to show off of course. Then times got tough and he camped with us for a couple of years. Whatever... we have fun no matter how much money we've spent on our toys.

Reminds me of an incident "back in the day". I had a Mercedes 500SL Roadster and was south on I5 just north of Sacramento. Top down, tunes up... having a good time but needed a bio break so stopped at a rest stop.

As I got out and made my way toward the head I passed an elderly gent who had been watching me from the time I pulled in. He said "You have one of those 'envy' cars, don't ya?"

I didn't know how to reply but said thank you, I enjoy it. But as I walked away I still didn't know if I had been complimented or insulted.

BTW, excellent sentiment in the last sentence of the quote above.

I drove my `82 Vette off the showroom floor. BlueSilver color. There were only something like 1200 of that color made. Had Aloca rims. A guy came out of a Duncan donuts shop just to tell me it was the best looking Vette he had ever seen.

Sold it 14 years later with only 14,000, garage kept, original miles on it.

For those who don't know, the 83 Vette came in a limited edition.

Could have given it to me as a late graduation present! But I prefer the '69 corvette.

I do enjoy driving around in my expensive coach!

Like some other posts stated, I worked hard for it and am fortunate to have been able to upgrade from a 40ft Newmar Ventana 3936 (for sale in Classifieds) to a 45ft Prevost XLII. I have yet to meet somebody who reacts negatively and like others, I will talk to anybody and do not care what ride you have. I have also not had negative reactions regardless of the campground or RV resort I have visited. I think most people do not really care because we have one thing in common. We love RV'ing.
Cheers,
Ronald
