Replaced echo charge

Just replaced my Echo Charge last week end, It failed at 26 months. Replaced it with an Amp L Start, cheaper and I like the leds on the front that show what the unit is doing, and the fact it's sealed unit. Used a trickle L start for 6 years on our Winne.

Here is another factor I have found in my decision, customer service. I e-mail customer service at both Xantrex (Thursday the 19th) and LSL (Sat the 21st). Xantrex forward the message to Schneider who responded that they would answer later. LSL relyed with a very kind, professional answer on the same week-end day and I am still waiting on Schneider. This says a lot to me, besides LSL is in home state of Texas, cheaper, and I am predicting as good or better product. Choice for Amp-L-Start has suddenly become very easy.

I've had a Xantrex ECHO unit for about 4 years now, after the second failure of my Intellitec BCC circuit that does chassis battery charging. The Echo worked fine until recently, but indications are that it too has failed (I'm no longer getting chassis charging when on shore power). Haven't got into it yet to see why. If I have to buy another, it will be the less expensive brand cause I see no advantages to the Xantrex box.

In my experience, Schneider does not support its Xantrex business well.

I'll say...I am still waiting to hear from them. No need, I am not about to buy the product with that kind of service.....not to mention price as compared to Amp-L-Start.

I got a reply fron Schneider that went something like this......."the Echo would be fine addition to maintain my chassis batteries and I should be able to find one at RV suppliers". I will just save comments and say that at least I am glad that they responded. I believe Dean sure had them pegged to not have a big interest in Xantrex. Bill

I've had similar experiences with Xantrex on mt RV2512 inverter and associated remote display and AGS units. They won't ever see any more of my money!

I got my coach in January and it had all new batteries and then I found out that my Xantrex Echo was not working so I went with the Magnum Smart Battery Combiner works great.
Magnum Me SBC Smart Battery Combiner | eBay
Tuesday I ditched the 458 inverter and had the Magnum 2812 installed and at the same time I had the Samsung 197 installed all 3 are working great, the beer is cold and the ice cream is hard as a rock, what a difference
