My door lock got hosed up again and I couldn't get it open. There are two locks on the door on the inside and it apparently is very easy to accidentally turn the top lock on and think the bottom lock is stuck. I can only imagine what would happen in an emergency if the coach was filled with smoke.

So I started thinking about getting some sort of emergency escape tool to have handy to break down the door from the inside or easily break the windows to escape. I found this baby on Amazon. Looks like it would have tons of uses including self defense.

How many people have something like this? Post your choices.

that is pretty handy. but after i found out the lock-prone design on my door, i put a sleeve onto the stem to make it impossible to lock. i am using the dead lock which is good enough.

If your deadbolt lock is Tri-mark, a lot of rv owners have keys that will unlock it. I have a tri-mark lock on my rig that an uncut key blank will unlock. I use my new stand alone deadbolt for security.

that's why I drive a Fleetwood Southwind with a driver side door.

You can certainly go mid evil on the coach to escape in case your locked in!

My DW makes all of the drivers in our home place one of those tools which can shatter a vehicle window in case of emergency..... [Moderator Edit]

Isn't that why you have escape windows? If you have a frig fire while sleeping you aren't going to reach the door to escape, not enough time.

This is what you need to break a window. It is spring loaded and you just push on it no swinging anything. I will find a video to post.
