you remember not long ago i was looking for molly rivets? that was for the storage door. i have been pondering why each and every door, when i face it, the left hand side is sagging. not only looking uncool, it hinders the door opening when it is no longer straight up-down. i came to conclude that because only one gas spring supports the heavy door at right hand. when you are opening or closing the door, a big force is applied to those rivets making them loose; when coach is on the road, the right hand side has the gas spring to support but the left hand side has nothing. over time it will come down more and more... in an engineer's view, it's a flawed design but easy to fix. what i wanted to do is to add another gas spring to the left hand side for each big doors; totally 9. the existing gas spring is at 90 lbs, when i am using two, 50 lbs for each side should be good. does this make sense?

Interesting thoughts, I never thought about it. I wondered why CC would use aluminum rivets to hold fiberglass to steel. My gas struts, depending on the door are on both sides. Some have the strut on the left and some on the right. I didn't see any correlation with missing rivets and where the struts are. My struts are all 120 pounders

Just a couple of other things. Aluminum machines nicely with regular woodworking tools. Just be sure to wear safety glasses as it will throw lots of chips. If replacing either the electric bay door or plumbing bay door brackets you'll need to cut one side of the angle down. The finishes in those two are closer to the door when closed.
As far as the sagging, mine don't unless the gas spring is too soft and failing. I did contact Kevin and he has the brackets in stock as well as the ball attachments. His solution was to add a second bracket to the other side of the door. Each set was quoted for $35.00ea plus another gas spring. For 12 doors that quickly becomes an expense.
My brackets/springs are on the left side of the door on the passenger side, and the right on the driver side. Why? IDK, just the way it was manufactured.

i have frequented cc forum regularly, somehow i missed your original post ... indeed this lit me up. yes, i noticed the limited spacing between the frame and one of the switches in the battery bay...
getting the aluminum angle should be easy and inexpensive from metal supply shops, and i have all the tools to cut and drill... by far this is the best route to me .
did you need to find the ball studs? any good places? i think it's 10mm ball.

finally got this done - all 8 big doors are with double gas spring now. the result is obvious, not only is the door evenly supported from side to side, but also the door is opened up and closed down so much easier and smoother. total cost was within $200.
here is a photo showing the angle aluminum being used on the back of the door and on the bay frame.
