Do You Use Slide Roller Floor Protectors???

My last two MHs have had tile floors in the living rooms and both have had issues with the Slide Rollers marking/damaging the tiles. We've tried several different techniques to stop this including Newmar's suggestion of "Cleaning" the Rollers.

So, what do you use??? Or have you found some other way to deal with this???

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and ideas.

No need on my coach as the floor of the Slideout does not touch the floor. Although most all flat floor now do. My floor mechanism is no long in production as Dewalt kept the patton when they sold out to Power Gear.

I am having a problem right now and am at the Fleetwood Service Center. It's on my list. I have carpet and have what appears to be grease marks. May have to put those floor protectors down if they can't correct the problem.

Will try to remember to post what I find out and what they recommend.

We use really thin place mats for the runner to slide on. They're really cheap, durable, and flexible. Being so thin, they won't raise the leading edge of the slide any.

you can use pieces of the luxury vinyl planks.
the dark smears that look like grease are probably aluminum wear from the slides staining the carpet

Hi,
I can't visualize the masonite. However what looked like a very thin door wedge caused some thought. Not a wedge but a thin piece of aluminum maybe 2" by 8-10" long. I'm not sure it the floor gets scuffed when slide goes out or is pulled in. So. slipping it in place at both times to see.

I used these when I went to engineered wood flooring and they would surely work great for carpet. I don't have rollers (skids, even worse) and the luxury vinyl planks work perfectly over the wood floor. Carpet would be a no-brainer.

I store them under the couch cushions when slides are out. Works great.

How do you clean the rollers? They seem inaccessible.

Thanks, Ken

That's what we've got on our 9yo Bounder carpet. I clean & clean it every year, but it's getting harder to remove each time. I think it eventually embeds & becomes part of the fibers. I could shoot the FW designer who suggested light beige carpet!!!

As our slide moves in, it raises up so it's not touching the carpet or tile when it's in place.
