Dodged 3 bullets, 2 boxes & 2 rolling stops...

First day on the road for 3 months started with a big smile on my face!
Then on highway 20 west between Meridian & Vicksburg:
Cruising along at about 63 mph, not much traffic, I look in the rear view and see a car fast approaching 1 foot across the centerline so I nudge over a foot and just avoid a big scrape. Then, a truck passes me and moves back into my lane about 3-5 feet in front of me ($&??&$##%,!), then driving through Jackson.....a empty wire spool falls off an electrical contractor truck in front of me....I veer slightly and hit it sending splinters all over the highway. I pulled over and checked everywhere for damage and found none. Could not believing it. Then, box in my lane forced me to chance lanes, luckily lane was open. I get off 20 thinking what a relief! Going north on 61 I come across another box in my lane and 2 folks doing a rolling stop and pulling out in front of me close enough to require brakes. I know it's Friday....is it a full moon too?..
In Lake Village now and it's happy hour ....thank God!
Safe travels!

Well this morning during the morning turn signal check I noticed no lights!
Found the trailer wires frayed and must have shorted something.
May have been an unlucky shot by the wire spool I hit or just scraped it
Checked all house fuses and chassis fuses by steering, no luck....
I see there is another high power fuse box in engine compartment, I'll look at that next.
Anyone ever short their trailer lights on a F53?

One comment.. On that wire spool that fell.. I know that when something like this happens your primary thought is getting through it safely.

But your co-pilot, if possible, should attempt to get as much info about the truck it falls off as possible, License plate if possible, Name on side, also date and time and location, then at the earliest pull over Buzz the Fuzz and give them that info.

It is a crime, serious traffic violation.

Alas, I'm usually to busy trying to keep my tighty whities.. White as it were.

ALso, if it's exciting,,,, You are following too close.

Happened to fast and he was 2 lanes over on an exit ramp
Thing came across and I would rather take a hit than avoid
I know what it's like to drive on grass at high speed....used to club race, it's ice and almost certain death in a MH! I was going 55. Don't want to go there!
Hope I'm good for another 20 years now......but doubt it!

Where are you, what route are you taking next, what time do you leave in the morning?

I want to make sure I'm not behind you, just in case. I mean, you missed all those events without damage and I know that if I were following I may not be as "pious" as you are.

Exactly my reason for buying a DashCam off Ebay. Every now and then if something like that happens, you can connect it to your front TV (we have a flat screen w/HDMI port) and replay the scene.
If some jerk cuts you off, there is a very good chance you can read his License Plate and report if situation requires it.

That's an interesting idea
Does it loop or run all day on one tape?
