Does anyone own an RVQD 6000 Onan?

Im considering an upgrade on my 36 footer from propane to one of these units.

Is it really as quiet and thrifty as the specs indicate?

Its "no load" burn is rated at .13GPH this is nearly identical to the amazing Honda EU2000.

Its a high dollar add on, but I am not yet retired and the nature of my business requires a 24x7 "hot" site whenever Rv-ing (same as my toyhauler)

This diedel replaceent of my "hungry for fuel" propane 6300 unit seems the ticket combined with some high power portable solar panels seems to be the answer to carrying a separate honda 2K generator and dealing with yet a third fuel source.

Thanks Guys.

I don't have that model, but do have a QD7500 (same engine as the 6000) and it sips fuel. No load consumption is rated at 0.21 gal/hr and that is probably right. I know I can run all day at 18 amps load, about 30% of full, and use less than 0.5 gal/hr. More like 0.35-0.40, as best I can estimate it.

Thank you Gary.

This is helpful.

When the unit encounters a heavy load such as another air conditioner how fast does it rpm up?

Do you have a auto start that fires it up after x amps are drained or do you manually stop and start it?

The 6000 uses even less fuel at lower outputs, but a little more at higher ones.

Thanks again!
