I think the question should be "Who keeps water in the on board tank, and why?"
Mine is for the toidy while underway.

Dave,

I keep water in the on-board tank for showers, toilet use, washing dishes, washing and a few clothes and brushing teeth. Oh and for making ice cubes.

Any water used for drinking by us or our dog, cooking and for ironing comes from 7-9 stage RO filter water we purchased from local water stores or bottled water.

The water that goes into our fresh water tank is always SOFT water supplied through our RV-1200 TravelSoft Water Softener.

Any water coming from shore supply also goes through the TravelSoft.

I keep plenty of water (chlorinated) in the tank mostly for the ride benefit from the weight but also to stay independent for periods while traveling. For drinking I use bottled water (coffee), bottled beer, orange juice, milk. I don't think the chlorinated tank water would be a problem but it gets pretty warm and I don't need to drink it.

yep drink from tank unless at cam with water problems then will definitely use only bottles. but also use bottles with flavoring you can buy from stores. Sweet tea, grape, cherry, etc. no sugar, no calories.

I drink the water. It's fine. It's triple charcoal filtered and I keep it in a 90 gallon plastic bottle. It's been 3 years since my last sterilization & I am still alive to tell about it.

Ha, I know this guy! He may drink a thimble of water a week. But beer, after beer, after beer!
