In fact if you use a carbon filter you are REMOVING any anti bacterial chemicals and are more prone to breeeding bad bugs in your system.

We drink from the tank. We've been safely drinking from this tank since January 1997.

Maintain your gear and choose what you put into it and your gear will treat you well.

Excellent point. Most filters installed by coach builders are placed to filter water coming out of the tank or from shore water. The only filter that should be used on water entering the fresh water tank is a sediment filter.

We have always drank, washed, cooked with, everything with the tank water. We live where we have our own well and our water is good so we drink it straight out. We keep the rv tank full at all times.

Of course I use it. We travel a lot, in all seasons and I sanitized the tank and water system once when I got it and have been using the water from the tank ever since.

My question is: Does anyone really drink the water in their on board tanks unless it is a last resort? Or to clean your vegtables?
Yes we do, but only thru the faucet with the charcoal water purifying filter.

You force your Lab to drink that water from the tank? Wait till I tell PETA on you But then.....I've seen what our lab drinks when we are out hiking. So maybe it isn't all that bad.

We have a office style water cooler in our home. The 5 gallon jug type. I drink over a gallon a day and can instantly taste the difference in any tap or any of the Aquafina's or other bottled waters.
We take one of the 5 gallon jugs of water with us and purchased a hand pump that attaches to it for ease of use. Use it for coffee as well. The coffee maker stays cleaner longer.

It will store in the shower when travelling and when camping.

We drink, cook and make coffee with water from our fresh water tank. We did get some bad water once and our water had an oder. We flushed the tank several times and added sanitizer and all was good again.

Sure, I drink the water from the fresh water tank. If one knows their coach, does proper maintenance and uses the whole coach filter everything has always been safe. No worries here.
