Does anyone wave anymore?

We have been driving class A's for 20 years. In the last 2 years we have noticed about 1 out of 10 RV'ers (or less) wave to each other when passing on the road. Alaska was the worst ! What happened to this age old fun little tradition?

We still wave if we think the other RV can see us. I think the window tinting has become darker and it's now harder to see inside some of the passing coaches.

I think it is like expecting cars to wave at each other, there are far too many RV's on the road now. We do wave at other Alpine Coaches and cars from West Virginia will honk if we are far from home so it' not completely dead.

I wave and usually get a wave back. RVers are generally very friendly folks.

X2 I too have been surprised that more folks don't wave back. It's probably because they're focused on driving I guess.

If Dave is driving, I'll wave. But it's kinda hard to see someone waving when you're zooming along at 65+mph on 4 or 6 lane interstate. If I'm driving, I'm too busy trying to keep it between the lines & watching out for itty-bitty cars cutting in front of me to get off at an exit in 100 ft to worry about waving.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Rick
That fits me. Driving is now a huge responsibility, and requires complete attention. If anyone waves at me from another vehicle, and I do not return the wave don't get your feeling hurt, I'm concentrating on both of us staying out of a wreck. We mostly drive the same roads we drove 40 years ago, but the number of vehicles has increased exponentially.
