My husband and I are thinking of moving from our pop up to a 36 ft 94 foretravel that has had one owner. Two questions what trouble is it for state and national parks with that size coach (have tried to find this out in guides but am not clear). Any thoughts on the older foretravel it is built great. Thanks

Go for it.

I've never seen a park at the state or corps level that would turn you away, and am not sure if there are any national parks with a 36 foot restriction (you'll be as long as a pickup with a 16' trailer).

With a 36' length you should be able to get into the majority of state parks. I would suggest that if you plan on towing a vehicle and you have any doubts about fitting into a park that you might want to unhitch the toad and go for a look at the proposed site. The park employees generally should be able to inform you about your rig fitting in, but if there are any doubts a look-see is always recommended first.

With opportunty to purchase a Foretravel, GO FOR IT. At 36' I doubt you will any trouble getting into any parks you have inquired about. Good Luck and post some pics when you get it.

Go for it. We have an 1989 36' U280 Foretravel and have been fulltiming in it for over 4 months now and are loving everything about this awesome coach. I pull a 24' trailer and have not had any problems as of yet!

We have a 35' motorhome and pull a towd. We have run into a few federal/state campgrounds and parks where we have not stayed due to size. The problem most of the time is not the sites but the access roads with sharp turns, low branches, etc. However, the percentage where there was a problem is very small (certainly less than 10%). Unless you are planning to go where motorhomes don't belong anyway, I would not let the size thing affect the decision.

We gave our new 39' 5ver a good workout last year. Logging 4400 miles with 26 campground stops. Every stopover was a pull-thru, and we had no trouble. The important thing, and the fun for us, is planning our next stop before we get there, and checking out their website, and also what the RV Park Reviews website has to say about them. We try to find the best campground for our money in the area with the attractions we want to see. That way we can go farther, stay longer, and have more fun.

We have a 35 foot MH and find it to be a nice size for State and County parks. We had a 38 footer and down sized to this one as it is easier to get around. It's not that with the other one that we couldn't do it but it is easier with this one. We love to camp in a more rustic an nature friendly place so that's why we don't have a 40 footer.

I'd say go for it as well. It might be a little overwhelming at first, but the pop up might have been overwhelming at first as well if you had never towed anything prior?

Get a trip or 2 under your belt and you'll be fine.

We have a 39 footer and used Federal & Florida State campgrounds during our last trip. We had a concern about the length, until we found this webpage: Campgrounds and Camping Reservations - ReserveAmerica

You do not need to be a member to use them, but it does allow you to look up campgrounds by type. And within each campground, you can find what size RV, by individual site, they will accept. Worked for us, and we had no problems with any of the sites. In fact, one of the sites that we liked, there was a comment about not being able to use a left side slide. We used the campground, but used another site. After getting set up, we walked to the site that stated that a left hand slide could not be used, and saw what they were saying. There was a tree in the way, that would not allow the slide to come out all the way, no matter how far you pulled over on the parking pad.

Might be worth your while to have a look at them. Again, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE THEM!!! BTW, there is NO CHARGE to join or use them...

Okay, you got me beat

I thought it was a leap going from an 18' TT to a 32' MH.

I have to say, though, that I love the ease of setting up/tearing down in a MH over the TT.

Also LOVE the bigger holding tanks. Love being able to stop & use the head without having to step out into the rain (to go into the TT). LOVE having the basement storage. LOVE the bigger frig and sep. freezer. LOVE the bigger bathroom and bigger shower. LOVE the big, vista, windshield. Love that my gas mileage is only slightly lower than my rig towing the TT.

My TT was a wonderful starter and a great teacher. I am glad, though, that I leaped right to the Class A. Hope that you enjoy your 'leap' as well!

Yes we did buy our coach used. It had 84,500 miles on her. We are getting right around 10 miles per gallon and i pull a 20' enclosed trailer behind. We are very happy with this coach. we will look at newer ones in the near future. Just love the quality of the Foretravel. This unit was not used very much. The 7.5 Onan only had 180 hrs on it. We have not had any issue's with this great built coach.

Hi Dave thank you for your info. We have not bought the foretravel yet we are having the dealer do a check on all the systems today.
