I have been unable to find anyone to change out the front TV in the motorhome with an LCD HD tv. This is a company I have found online that supples a tv to fit and a tech to do the install. Even our dealer here has not done the changeover. I cannot do it myself and the front TV has seen fit to stop working, so adding a converter is not an option. I just don't know anyone using this service.

Have you contacted the company's local BBB? Ask the company for references of their customers. Good luck and keep us posted.

CruisingamericaRV in Celina, OH will take care of it for you. That's not real far from you and you can camp at the shop while they do the work. Kevin Mallory, the owner and operator, does nice work. A nearby cabinet shop and rework the cabinetry if needed also. Contact him at cruisingamericarv@verizon.net or 419-852-0791

I have decided that the rvdigitaltv.com is too expensive for what the coach needs. And I have been nable to find much info on the company. The TV is Sceptre and I don't feel that I want to spend the money on it. I have talked with Circuit City and they have installed for truckers in their rigs, so I think I will see about having them install a Samsung or LG TV in the spot where the old one has been removed. It may not be the prettiest, but i think it will be very functional.

This is a lot more cabinet work than electronic/tech anyway. A good (small) cabinet shop is who I would look for.

If you decide to go with CC, you might spray the inside of the cabinet flat black so that it is not too apparant.

Good Luck!

I don't think I'd let CC work on my motor home. I've seen their work and there's no way in you know where I'd let them in my coach.

Call Elkhart Service & Collision @ 574-389-9999, they've done that kind of upgrade when they were with Monaco, I would think they could do the same thing now.

Barb,

Here's two numbers down in Red Bay, AL. That not all that far from Nashville and both do extremely good work.

Chris Berry's Woodwork (Chris Berry) @ 256-810-4707.

I am still in a quandary. Right now I have no up front TV and put the 19" from the kitchen in the opening when I arrive at camp. This certainly has become complicated.

I replaced our 36'Dolphin 19" TV with a 22" LCD and wall bracket, we bought at circuit city. The installation is pretty easy. I would think you could find a handyman, or carpenter(check their references) to do the install. The TV only needs pluged in and the cable connected.

stearn - what brand of TV did you install? I am curious about if all the LCD brands will be OK to put in an RV?

We bought an Element 22" LCD, it was a little over $300.00. The picture didn't seem to be as sharp as some of the higher end models, but it still is alot better than the set we replaced. We used it about 18 months, that would be about 5000 miles, and a winter being stored. I got my information on the forums (this one and rv.net). They say the LCD is fine , but the plasma doesn't like cold to hot. I might add when installed it was mounted in front of the hole the old one came out of, not built in. We have since traded the Dolphin.
