Unhappy Dometic Frig

In my MH i have a Dometic Model RM3862, Product Number 921 14 60-80, and i have a red wire with i think a 3 amp fuse in it that is not hooked to anything as it is just wrapped around a pipe, the wire is stripped on the end like it was once hooked up to something. If someone on this forum has this same frig i would appreciate it if you would take the outside cover off and see what the red wire is hooked up to. I discovered this when i was hooking up the ice maker lines while de-winterizing the unit. All seems to be working ok, but i suppose the wire should be hooked up to something since it was put in the unit. I did not notice the red wire when i winterized the unit, as i had just purchased it. Your help would be much appreciated. Rivrduk

The wire may not be a factory connection. I have seen similar wiring installed for an aftermarket external fan for ventilation.

I ordered a wiring diagram from dometic, and i have it now. It shows a red wire with a three amp fuse in it. I cant tell by looking at the diagram what it is hooked up to. I was hopeing that someone would have the same unit and could tell me what it should be hooked up to. Thanks, Duk

I have the wiring diagram, but not being to good at electric problems, other than it shocks you when you touch it, i cant tell what it hooks up to. The wiring diagram shows a red wire with as 3 amp fuse in it going to something, but i can tell where it might connect. Was wanting info from someone who might have the same frig to tell me where the red wire goes. Thanks, Duk

For now place some tape over the bare wire. The fused wire where does it go back from fuse?
Is it going back to a block with another red wire and white ground wire.
Off this block you will have another red wire that will feed up to your fridge control board which is fused on control board.
Have you had your fridge on and is it cooling correctly?
Like someone has said it could be for a external cooling fan for improved cooling behind your vent area and someone removed the fan.
