Dometic Gas/Electric Refrigerator rewire

A mouse or squirrel ate through the mesh in the refrigerator vent on the roof and didn't just chew the wiring, it made a nest out of every wire in the outside area of the refrigerator. The wires were bitten off and woven into a nest. We were only home 1 month when we discovered it. The refrigerator worked fine the whole trip on gas. We had an appointment on our next trip to repair our roof and the service rewired the refrigerator to AC 120 only so we can use the fridge. The thermostat is disconnected so the refrigerator now freezes everything and we use it as a freezer. We bought a small refrigerator that we installed in the bay for items that can't be frozen (salad items, eggs, bacon, fruit, etc.) This actually works well for us but I would really like to have the refrigerator rewired and back to normal and we could still use our extra fridge. So far we haven't found anyone who will tackle the wiring and are scared to do anything because of the gas and liability. My son is an electrician and I am also versed in schematics and wonder what we would need to look out for if we attempted to rewire it outselves or anyone know repair in Atlanta who would attempt the repair. Not liking the cost of buying another fridge and also cost of removing a window or windshield.

If the fridge works on gas, it isn't rocket science to repair the wiring ,
Have you tried the Dometic web site for a schematic.

Soldering gun and a selection of different colored wires should do the trick.
I wish I'd seen your post 4 months ago , helped convert 2 RV's to residential and just let the wiring go because I didn't have room to store it.
