Dometic Macerator Toilet

For those of you that may have a Dometic macerator toilet a bit of FYI. We had a problem with the sensor flush switch. As many of fellow RV owners know the black tank sensors usually show incorrect levels. Unless the sensors are external or your very lucky, or have a magic method. Our sensor on the flush switch began to show full (red light) therefore the toilet would not flush when I knew the black tank was empty. Yes I've tried all the remedies! So I contacted Dometic tech service with this issue. Simple solution the yellow wire coming from the internal sensor is a ground, tech said, "simply cut the yellow wire" problem solved! Next he asked if my year toilet had to be flushed multiple times to properly evacuate you know what! Yes! They have engineered a new bowl outlet tube flapper valve that works on a single flush! Oh happy day! he sent the part free, all you have to do is remove the toilet base, slip off the old valve, pliable rubber, slide on the new valve problem solved! for reference the Dometic onboard is 8700 Master Flush year 2011 and 2012. Probably the newer units have this part.

Flush

Great post. We have one that clears well, one that doesn't. I will be calling them for the part. Not sure if ours has the sensor as our units have absolutely no visible controls or sensors, just a flush handle.
