door awning

I have an Oasis Elite Automatic RV door awning. It will sometimes open part of the way and stop and or go out and won't retract. After working with it some manually, it will eventually return to the closed position. It seems that the motor just stops running. I have checked the switch and it seems to be performing correctly. Is this the motor going bad? And if so has anyone performed this operation?

Some small motors have a thermal overload.. so if the motor has too much load it will shut down and eventually will restart on its own if there is power applied once it cools..

You'd have to go to the manufactures web site to see if your motor is one of those... the need is to prevent motor failure if the awning hits something while in travel.. and the thermal overload prevents motor overload..
