Door Awning dead

I extended my awning yesterday without any problems. In the evening when I tried to retract the awning I got nothing. No sound, nothing. I tried again this morning and still nothing. I looked for a fuse and could not find anything. Please help.

When that happened to me I had to replace the motor. I had a friend help me push it closed then I bungeed it. The motor was a pain to replace just because it didn't want to go in the slot.

If you could post the year, make and model of your rig and maybe the brand of your awning then someone with the same type could help you. Without some more information, everyone is just shooting in the dark.

I have a 2006 Monaco Camelot. The awning is Carefree. I believe it is a fuse.

I had the same issue with mine a few years ago, it turned out to be a short in the wire between the switch and the motor. You can test your motor by locating the wires that feed it in the overhead cabinet behind the awning, and hook them up to a 12 or 18 volt drill battery. Reversing the wires on the battery will run it in or out. In my case, I ran new wires around the door trim from the switch to the awning.........Bruce

When mine quit working it was the connection. It was corroded and suffered from low voltage. The combination caused it to fail. Cleaned the contacts tightened the connection to keep water out, been working great for the past couple years.
