Door holder open kagiggers?

What is the correct name for the shock absorber looking gizmos that are supposed to hold the under storage doors open? Mine are shot, won't hold the doors open. I can't search for them if I don't know their correct name.

Search for HATCH DOOR LIFT or HATCH LIFT PISTON. That should get you where you need to be. \ken

Gas Springs or Lift Supports. As stated, you need to know the extension length and compressed length in addition to the force. On my coach, the following are for 90 lbs of force.

90 lb, 20" Extension/11.7" compressed
Has to be ordered, none of the stores stock these lifts.

Any RV parts/accessories store can order what you need. To help with matching your existing gas springs to a different supplier, this chart is very useful: SPD ┬╗ GSNI Black Nitride Shaft Gas Spring ┬╗ Gas Springs and Dampers

Most brands have an identification number printed on them. Following that, some have another number, for instance mine have: SPD-GS-2600 120WINN = part number + 120# Winnebago bed lift spring. My large basement doors have 65# lift, the smaller have 45# lift, 2 ea.

Basement door shocks

SUSPA« 100 LB Gas Spring/Prop/Strut/Shock (set of 2)
Order from Amazon for about $26 a pair. Also Camping word has them but they are individual and about $16 a piece. You can get different length and weight capacities. Measure your old ones to be sure what you need. I bought a 60lb for my water hose compartment and that was probably an overkill. Larger basement doors usually have 2 shocks so 60lb should be adequate for those as well.
