Arrow Down payment on a factory order

Those that ordered a coach recently what have the dealers asked (doesn't mean that got it) in the way of a deposit.

Of course I know it's negotiable but what did they ask for?

The consensus, from another forum, is that $5000 for a factory order is the normal amount.

Our dealer wanted $3,000 to place the order. The bank wants $10,000 total down payment.

Dealer generally 5K, banks wants 20% down unless your know them personally and are well connected. I would look at pre approval limits if I were to purchase again. Gives you, the buyer a better leverage point as the dealer gets some type of consideration for processing the deal.

In general, do you get a better price on a factory order, or buying from a dealer's current inventory? It would make logical sense to me that the dealer would want to move the coach on his lot, but I had a dealer tell me he could place an order with the factory, with all my upgrades, and that would be a better price for me. Of course, he didn't have the coach with the upgrade I wanted on his lot 😉
