DP Insurance in Florida

Done with snow. When we were in VA, our auto carrier (USAA) would not insure the MH so we went with The Hartford as they were much cheaper than other companies I looked at. When I called them to move the existing policy to Florida, they said they cannot "just insure the MH in Florida". I called USAA and they will only cover my autos (and renters).

I can move one of the autos (from USAA to Hartford) but that seems like a PITA. Is there another company that someone can suggest? We are not Full-Timers if that matters.

Trying to make one trip to the DMV this week so I have not done my normal 'search before asking'. I appologize in advance

We live in Florida and insure all our vehicles there. If you only want the motorhome insured, try Allied (a Nationwide subsidiary) or National Interstate or Blue Sky. Or call an RV specialist agency such as Miller RV Insurance and let them find the best deal for you.

Personally, I find it convenient to insure all my vehicles through one company and you often get a better deal with the package as well. I would ask for quotes for coach only and coach plus cars - you might be pleasantly surprised.

We have the MH insured with Foremost, first just as an RV and later a fulltime policy. No problems and good people to deal with.

Geico will insure all of your vehicles in Florida and give you a discount for doing so.

USAA won't insure motor homes, but will direct you to Progressive which is under partnership with USAA to provide MH insurance. My MH is through them.

Funny, AAA will not cover our rv in Florida but did so in California. They too sent us to Progressive.

Strange as we're in FL and have the MH insured with The Hartford. Our autos are with someone else.
