Drawer Install

we have a 2006 hr endeavor. the cabinet under the stovetop is hard to access, it is deep enough but hard to reach things, I would love to make a sliding drawer for it even though it would mean giving up some space. Has anyone ever done this.

Anything is possible.

I made an irregular shaped drawer under a refrigerator in our previous Class C, it was deep enough to put a can of coffee an provided lots of storage.

With the current full drawer slides you can buy it allows the drawer to be pulled out the full length. Lowes or Home Depot will probably have a 24" slide which should fit.

Also, these drawer slides only usually take 1/2" on either side of the drawer. Make the drawer out of a good quality 1/2" plywood. If you any pneumatic tools it allows easier assembly, if not use screws and glue. You can leave the doors in place and the drawer could sit just inside.

Good Luck

Our Rexhall has a similar cabinet under the stove top. Rather than build a full drawer, we had a slide out shelf made that the DW can pull out and access everything. Installed on 1/4 plywood and then mounted the plywood the the original cabinet floor.

I did make drawers for under the bed. Not real hard to do. I have a post somewhere on the site that shows the drawers - just need to find it.

If you are interested in info on either, just PM me and I'll look up the name of the company that made the slide out shelf and/or the message with the drawer making process ans pics.

For our living area in the desert where we winter, I added a drawer in a cabinet. Got it through Costco. Made to order. Good quality. Perfect fit. Reasonable price. Might be a good option for your project.
