Driving Class A question
Hi,
First post here. My wife and I are considering moving up from our 24ft TT to 36-37 DP. To access my street you have to go up a fairly steep incline as soon as you turn on to the residential part. I'm worried about being able to get the unit home.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I had the same concerns but then I thought if some one orders a new appliance it comes in a 30' box truck and if they can get in and out than a 36' DP should.

Function of overhang from rear wheels. If it is a sudden transition you might drag the rear. Some units have skid plates, but not a great solution for frequent use. I would definitely try it out before finalizing the deal - have the salesman bring it over.

If its power and the ability to climb that worries you, don't worry. But it could drag if the approach angle is steep enough.

We may be purchasing from a private deal. Not sure yet narrowing down floor plans now. Looking at a Newmar 2002 D.Star 38 and a Monaco. If I buy local I'm pretty seller would do the drive, if I look elsewhere will have to figure something out..

Its the drag that Im worried about. I used to tow my 24+ ft boot up without issues, trailer is fine. I've driven 5 tons before but never anything as big as 36-40 ft. Has me a little concerned...

It slopes a little bit, but because the picture shows making a right hand onto road you are actually turning from a dowhill to an uphill. Not sure if that makes a difference?

Seller might not be willing to risk damaging the back the way a dealer would. I would be hesitant if it were my coach. For that matter, I would be reluctant to take my 34' around that turn without knowing it would work.

I enlarged your pic & studied it again. Any grade transition looks to be long & shallow. It would also be a low speed turn. I would be truly surprised if it was a problem.
