DS4369 or Allegro 45OOP

Trying to decide between the 2. Is there that much difference? I have driven both and lot's of research.
Any comments would be appreciated.

We have a 45OPP. I have been to the Tampa show every year for the 5 years and always compare the Newmars, Entegras, American Eagles, and Tiffins. I always come away from the show still thinking the Tiffin OPP is the best floor plan and best coach for the money.

Each has its pros and cons. Choose the floorplan you like and buy that unit.

One is owned by Winnebago, the other is still family owned. Potential quality issues?

I lean towards the Tiffin but then again I am probably biased. Love ours with no major problems in two years of travel. Their service cannot be beat.

Can’t go wrong so no bad decision and I’d be proud to own either. We’ve been through both plants and saw two different but great operations.
Newmar will allow customization that Tiffin won’t consider. Tiffin has more standard features that are options on Newmar. People swear by comfort steer but both coaches being tag axles are a dream to drive.
The 45OPP is a bit bigger has a lot more storage so if your a full timer that becomes pretty important.

Seriously, I don't think that should be an issue but that is my opinion.

BTW...we love our floor plan but YMMV.

When you are in the coaches, close the slides. I've closed the slides on several Tiffin 45OPP and there is no room for anyone to walk between the two opposing couches. Poor design.

Both Newmar and Tiffen build great coaches and are known for quality. Of the two you named, I would lean towards the Dutch Star.
I hope you looked at Entegra Anthem and Cornerstone. Entegra is known for giving you more coach for your money while still building a high quality coach on a Spartan chassis.

I have a 2019 40' Dutch Star and a good friend just bought a 2019 40' Allegro Bus. I always thought the Allegro Bus was a little pricier than a Dutch Star, bought he bought his as an end of the year deal and got it for about $15K less than my DS.

We've been comparing features and he has quite a few more than I do. Some are little and some are big. His has three A/C's which Newmar refuses to do on a 40' DS. That means he also gets a 10K generator, a nice feature. The two other large items are air leveling and the Spyder electronic operation of the coach interior features. Newmar does not offer their Silverleaf electronics until you buy a Mountain Air or above.

So, he got about $15K more in features for $15K less than my coach.

On the Newmar side, I wanted a tag axle, which only Newmar offers on a 40' coach (doesn't pertain to your situation). Newmar tiles the entire coach, while Tiffin is still putting carpet on the slides. Mine came with 8 AGM batteries, his has lead acid. A small issue, both coaches have the façades along the roof line, but Tiffin just rolls the edge of the roof over the side, under the facades allowing water to run down the side of eh coach. Newmar's roof is like a 4" deep pool with drains at the four corners. Any water on the roof is captured and eliminated via the drains.

Lastly, Newmar lets you customize your coach to a much more extensive degree than Tiffin. I was tired of all the dark colors on new coaches and Tiffin is notorious for this, Newmar to a certain degree. So I was able to pick all my colors from every color Newmar uses. This was important to me and you can see my colors in my signature.

Lastly, many will downplay Comfort Steer, because their coach doesn't have it. Even Newmar owners don't talk about it much because they are so use to it. At the end of a long driving day, my butt may be sore, but I'm certainly not exhausted from constant steering of the coach in crosswinds and road crown.

For me, we narrowed down a new motor home purchase in 2014 to a Dutch Star, primarily because of the tag axle and that there was a dealer less than a mile away. In 2019, I bought another Dutch Star because of the ability to customize it. If I had to buy again, I would still look at both coaches and I think it could be a toss up.

I know I say it a lot - but I have owned both - Comfort Drive is worth at least $50K if you realize what it really does for you. Driving a coach for less than 4 hours - all newer DPS are good - you will really see the difference on longer drives - (driver fatigue and comfort), heavy winds and god forbid - tire blowout. So, if you just drove one around the block - even did the backing into a parking space you will not get the real difference!

Thats why the people that swear by it, swear by it - you absolutely can not appreicate it until you get behind the wheel and drive a coach under windy or turbulent conditions or drive for longer periods of time. Newmar now puts comfort drive on EVERY level of diesel pusher they make.
