This was a new I purchased for the home. The tabs did not break! I watched in horror as the bayonet expanded knocking one of the tabs out of position and then the other popped right off. It was my inexperience that triggered a series of events, as is the case with most accidents. When I saw the compartment full of debris, I grabbed the hose and put it on leading out the side instead of unscrewing the opening straight down. I didn't want to spill all of this on the ground, but I believe this was the cause of the bayonet not holding.

Attaching a Flush King ( poof view) attachment saved me a nuisance on my leaking 2013 Bighorn 5th wheel. It gives you another slide valve in case the primary one is acting up. Also, the hodse connection a good waty to back flush your blacktank.
We recently bought a 2005 Monaco motorhome and on our last trip of several trips, the black tank was clogged.....with a full load. How do you empty a full tank if you open the valve and nothing happens??? I attached the Flush King (no battery version) and back flushed the tank and cleared the blockage. RV stores have them and I will never leave without one again......who needs that problem
Best of luck
