Duo-Therm Air Conditioner Troubleshooting
I have a Model 57915.331 A/C unit on my '99 LaPalma, and the compressor runs, but the fan motor has quit. It turns freely, but will not run, so the unit freezes up and stops. Anyone who could help me determine if this is just a motor problem, capacitor, or something else? Thanks in advance.

If the motor buzzes but does not spin, it's probably the cap. If it doesn't even buzz, then it's not getting voltage so you'd want to look at the wires and connectors for cuts, corrosion, or looseness.

I have a DuoTherm 600315.331 the front main unit on 06 Coachman 40'
When it was used last, while it was running, something was causing the generator to rev up, and the amps jumped from 22 to 65 or so...what could be the problem?

guys I have never looked but I am a bit suprised are you saying the actual fan motor has a starting capacitor. Those are very small motors I am sure there is a cap for the compressor but I am suprised if there is one for the fan motor itself.
To the original poster. If it spins free just disconnect the leads going to the motor and see if you have any voltage where the leads plug in. should be 115vac. If you have voltage and the motor spins freely it would be time for a new one.
You can probably go to a place that sells electric motors and get one cheaper than through an RV dealer just take yours out and take it with you.

Yes there is a capacitor, I just had to replace my motor cap a few weeks ago. A easy way to test if it is the cap is start the a/c unit and then give the blower wheel a good spin to get it started, if it continues to spin then you need a new capacitor. Mine was a 7.5mfd-370 for the motor and a 30mfd-370 for the compressor since the one failed I just bought 2 of each and replaced all the capacitors with new and put the old ones in the tool box just in case

Two capacitors
Over the weekend at the SE camper rally, my Duo-Therm AC quit. After hearing only a slight hum, I suspected a possible capacitor. I unbuttoned the unit to find two capacitors. I'll replace both tomorrow. Thanks all...

We had exact same problem. Turned out to be a circuit board. It is in the box where the fan connections are. The load from running the fan burned the connection on the circuit board on mine. Symptoms where compressor ran but no blower. For what it's worth. I did replace the caps first. no help.

Thermostat problem
Upon closer checking, I found a broken contact in the thermostat. Once replaced, no more problem. Thanks for your help.
