We may be in trouble--we are researching and shopping and hoping to purchase in a few months when my husband retires. And I don't even know what these things mean: AquaHot, tag axle, CCC. Help?

You just made my point. You should know and have an opinion about their desirability before you open your wallet.

AquaHot is a system that gives you endless hot water and is also the furnace to heat the coach. It works by burning diesel fuel in high demand situations and can use electric for lower demand.

Tag axle the the axle which is just behind the drive axle in some coaches. It increases weight carrying capacity. If you are going to be towing a heavy trailer, then the tongue weight of the trailer will reduce your weight carrying capacity. The trailer weight will have to be added to the coach weight (GVWR) to give you the ""Gross combined weight rating" (GCWR).

The CCC is one way to determine how much cargo capacity you have in any given coach.

Believe me there are many things you need to be aware of before you get caught up in the "curb appeal" of a coach. Knowledge is power.

May I suggest that you visit the Tiffin RV Forum for the good, the bad and the ugly about Tiffins. That should be a good chunk of your due diligence. I would have to agree that the Phaeton is more akin to the Ventana while the Dutch Star is closer to the Bus.
