DutchStar Clearance Light

Ok, I might be crazy. I just purchased a very well maintained 2005 Dutchstar. Here is the deal, how in the world so I get the clearnace lights to turn on? There is no switch and they don't turn on when the headlights are on. I've check the fuses and they are good. What am I missing??

Help a brother out before I go crazy!😂

Welcome to iRV2 .

There may be a relay for the running lights.
Is the coach on a Spartan or Freightliner chassis?
Contacting the chassis manufacturer for a wiring diagram would be the first step.

Thanks. Spartan chassis...
I will check the diagram and find/replace the relay. So my assumption is correct, the they should come on with the headlights?

Check the bulbs . . . They might be bad. Start with the simplest thing before searching for relays and wiring diagrams.

My 2005 Kountry Star has LED clearance lights, I would think the Dutch Star does as well. I replaced one of mine last year. They turn on with the headlights.

My '07 KSDP has one out on he front, and one on the back. I need to get the ladder out and fix. Question; do they have a bulb or are they a sealed unit, meaning the whole thing must be replaced?

Anyone know, bulb numbers, or light numbers?

Look from the ladder, it will be very apparent. I found the part number on Newmar's website and then bought from a truck supply web site. The colored lens comes off, the light is a one piece assembly. Don't over tighten the lens or it will crack.

My front lights are not replaceable bulbs, they are very small wired LED bulbs. So the whole assembly requires replacement. They are in the Newmar website under the parts link. I'm not sure about the rear, I will figure that out this weekend.

Thought I would add a couple of links. Here is a discussion from last year I started to figure out how to change the lights. Water intrusion is an issue when changing these: Clearance Light Removal & Installation

Also, I bought my lights from here: Ryder Fleet Products

If you pull the part number from Newmar you can use it to search Ryder for the proper part.

My 01 DS has thank you blink switch on the steering wheel to signal to other drivers which controls the clearence lights. Maybe that switch is bad not turning on the lights. Just a thought. If you apply 12 volts to some place in the circuit to see if the lights come on you might save you some time and aggravation. Best of luck
