E4 error code

Guys, Iím getting a n E4 error code on my Dometic thermostat. I ordered a NEW Thermostat but that did not fix the problem. Everything works except my front heat pump . The A/C heat pump units (2 of them) are Dometic 13,500 watt units. I have a 2016 Newmar BayStar Sport. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks, Ron Ray ( BooDaddy)

E3 is shorted indoor temp sensor, don't know where it connects specifically. Says heat pump should continue to work but will display last set point only. Try holding mode and up buttons until display turns off, this should initialize the stat to its controller. If still E3 when turned back on, need to find that sensor and its wiring.

Good day BooDaddySC
Yes, here is the exact description of the E4 error code from the Dometic Manual:

E4 Open circuit or out of range Outdoor Temperature Sensor (select models). Heat pump operation will be locked out. Air conditioner, furnace, heat strip, and fan operation can continue to operate.

This requires that you get up on the roof and remove the cover along with the shroud (i.e. plenum) to test and troubleshoot it. The sensor can be measured with a DVM on the ohms scale. It is a simple two wire connector on the control board. If you are not electrically or mechanically inclined, call a mobile tech.

Best Regards
